The Season so Far

Firstly we would like to apologise for not producing a newsletter over what has been  a turbulent couple of months, but hopefully we have settled down and getting back on track to allow the girls to progress along with the club and enjoy their football.

All the teams have had lots of games and it has been a mixed bag in terms of results, but all the girls are progressing and some great performances have shown how they have all developed.

We have had great support from everybody and we would like to thank you all in making Kempton Girls a great club to be part of.

Our latest travels across Counties have seen a weekend of Frost which  all the County Cup games were postponed until Sunday 9th December (Cup games take priority over league games). The last fixtures of 2012 will be held on Sunday 16th December.

On Sunday 16th December the Under 15’s will be playing at home in the Semi-Final of the League Cup against Crystal Palace. Would be great to see everybody there to give their support.

The latest fixtures, results and tables can be found on the clubs web site front page.

Sponsorship

We are always looking for sponsors for the club and would welcome to hear if anybody has any ideas or contacts that could help with sponsorship.

If anybody knows any dates and contacts of fairs coming up we would love to hear from you. Email Daren at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The committee of Kempton Girls Football Club will be producing a newsletter informing all players and parents of any news. If you would like anything including in the newsletter please contact a committee member.

Start of The Season

Sunday 9th September will be the start of first set of League fixtures as Kempton Girls FC. Kicking us off will be our newly formed Under 10’s, who play Claygate Royals away Kick Off at 10.30 am.. The Under 11’s are resting this week. Both the Under 14’s and 15’s away to Crystal Palace and Wimbledon Town respectively.

The Under 11’s start their campaign on 16th September at Home to Caterham Pumas.

So good luck to the teams this month and enjoy your football.

All our fixtures, result and reports for September are on the club web site.

Kit

We have issued the girls with their new kit for this season, which includes a training kit, playing kit, tracksuit top/raincoat and a new kit bag. We still have the Under 11’s to kit out properly and a few size changes to make.

The kits are for the girls this season, and we would like to collect at the end of the season to then be a position to repair/replace change sizes etc before the start of the following season.

We would also like the girls to attend all games in their playing kit and tracksuit top.

This will give us a more professional look when arriving at games.

New Season BBQ

Hopefully you are all reading this at the Start of Season BBQ!!

Sunbury Regatta

Sunbury regatta was a good exercise in PR for the club. Thank you for all those that helped out.

Training

Training has now changed to the following:

Under 10’s and 11’s are training at Kempton Avenue on a Tuesday evening between 6pm and 7pm. With players still welcome to come to Saturday morning training.

The Under 14’s and 15’s will be training on a Tuesday evening between 6.30 and 8pm. We have two venues for these age groups. Kempton Avenue and St. Pauls.

Vice Captain: Emily Bugden

We have also made Lucy Wakelin Club Captain for this season.

Pre season friendly

This year we had issues with trying to get pre-season friendlies with the Under 14’s and 15’s, mainly due to other teams players holidays.

However the Under 10’s and 11’s played at Kempton Avenue on Monday 3rd September against Colne valley Under 11’s. Although they were both beaten, both teams did very well considering it was their first ever full match as teams. The girls must remember that Colne Valley were all part of their Under 11 teams and they had played together last season at Under 10.

Butlins Tour 2013

We have now had the prices from Butlins for next year’s May tournament and we will be issuing separate news letter later this month to let you know about the whole tournament.

Social Events

We are looking at holding a Halloween Party on 26th October 2012 if we have enough interest and would like to hear your views.

Newsletter: July 2012

Welcome

The committee of Kempton Girls Football Club will be producing a newsletter informing all players and parents of any news. If you would like anything including in the newsletter please contact a committee member.

Penalty shoot out

One last piece of news on the Penalty Shoot Out. We raised £831.00 from the players and big congratulations to them all. The winners of the prizes for most sponsorship raised go to, Emily Magill, Hannah Kinnaird and Holly Drage. We are making a donation to Shooting Stars Chase Children Hospice this week of £250.00.

Charter Standard Club

Kempton Girls have been awarded FA Charter Standard Status, which is a great achievement in our first 11 months of existence. If you want to read more about the meaning of the award see;

Start of New Season BBQ

We are looking to hold a pre-season BBQ on Friday 7th September at Kempton Avenue. The event is being held for all club members and is also to be our pre-season meeting with parents to run through the season ahead. It is important to have as many parents attend as possible so we can inform you all of what will be happening during the course of the season. Could you confirm that you will be attending by letting Geoff Wright know in advance please.

Sunbury Regatta

We have a stall at this year’s Sunbury Regatta, Saturday 11th August, and are looking for volunteers to assist on the day. We are looking to take the stocks. The event is in aid of us raising the clubs profile and encouraging new members to join. Details of the event can be found at: http://www.sunburyregatta.com/

Please contact Geoff or Kelly to let them know about helping out.

Training

Training continues on Tuesday evenings. There is a slight change to our training from Tuesday 4th September we will continue training at Kempton Avenue until further notice. Pre-season training will start on Tuesday 28th August and it is important that all players attend if possible, as this is to be our start of preparation for the season ahead.

Mini football

Mini football will continue to run through the summer and continue to run during next season with breaks at school half term holidays. Mini football is a part of the club which will allow us to grow as we build new teams from these sessions. We welcome girls from all teams to become involved in this part of the club as this sets us aside from other clubs. The mini football has allowed us to field teams this year at Under 10 and Under 11. To maintain this for the following season we need to start advertising for the following season and the new school years. Surrey County Women and Girls League are also looking to hold a series of 4 V 4 tournaments next season for Under 8-9. This will be great and allow us to involve the mini footballers.

Player Registration

We have now registered players for all teams. However we are still looking to register players at Under 10 and Under 11. The league officially starts on Sunday 9th September and we will issue preliminary fixtures on the club website in due course.

Pre season friendly

We are organising a pre-season friendly on Saturday 1st September at Matthew Arnold for the Under 14’s and Under 15’s which will also be the date for the new kits to be handed out. Sunday 2nd September the Under 14’s have been invited to play a pre-season friendly against Fleet Town. Further details to follow. On Monday 3rd September the Under 10’s and 11’s will be having a pre-season friendly between 6pm and 7pm at Kempton Avenue. This will be against Colne Valley Girls FC. If you could let Geoff know your availability for the pre-season friendlies as soon as possible.

Butlins Tour 2013

We are starting to look at next year’s Event at Butlins after a very enjoyable tournament last season. We will be looking to take Under 10’s, 11’s, 14’s and 15’s. Provisional dates for the tournament are 3rd to 6th May 2013. Last year prices ranged from £106 to £179 per person for the whole weekend and varied dependant on accommodation chosen. We will issue more news on this to gauge interest later in year.

Annual General Meeting

Thank you all who attending this years AGM, and we will be issuing minutes of the meeting shortly.

Other News

We would also like to welcome the new players for this coming season,

Under 14’s: Shannon and Emily.
